Volkswagen’s latest SUV model, Tiguan has finally arrived. There was a lot of buzz around the vehicle considering it to be one among the best value-for-money offering for potential premium SUV buyers.

The Tiguan has top of the class headlights, planned with safety in mind. It has options for a low/high beam, both available at high intensities. The vehicle also has provision for cornering lights, directionally adaptive headlights and standard delay off headlamps. It also gets standard headlight washer, daytime running lights, illuminated entry and auto-leveling headlights.
Modern technologies and features
Apart from the standard features, the Volkswagen Tiguan also excels when it comes to theadaptability of modern technology. It is equipped modern safety features like Rollover protection system, Emergency Trunk Release, Lane departure warning system, integrated turn signal mirrors etc.
The Tiguan also has a brake disc drying system, which enables you to wipe the water off your brakes. This feature is activated as soon as you activate your windshield wipers. It also has an anti-slip regulation, which comes in handy if you are driving during the monsoon. Tiguan also has an incorporated Electronic Brake Pressure Distribution system, which can prove to be pretty useful in hard braking situations.
The new SUV is also equipped with VW’s famous Car-Net vehicle assistance service, which brings features like locating the car in the parking, seeking help in case of emergency and a lot more.

The Tiguan comes with industry standard safety features like traction control, ABS with EBD, driveline support, low tire pressure warning and electronic stability control system.
The exteriors are also pretty solid. It uses a unique alloyed steel to boost the toughness of its outer shell.
Theft Prevention
The Volkswagen Tiguan also has security features to help prevent theft of the car. It has a content theft-deterrent alarm system and a theft deterrent radio as well. The doors also have a power lock, which has a 2-stage operation.It has standard Occupancy sensor and stolen vehicletracking system. You also get the remote keyless entry feature.
Crash Protection
For an unfortunate event of a crash or a collision, Volkswagen has integrated various technologies. The car has been designed so that it creates a Safety Cage, i.e. in the front and rear of the vehicle, there are specifically designed crumple zones to nullify crash forces, which may arise in the occasion of any collision. Unlike most cars, the Tiguan also has side curtain protection, provided with specifically deployed airbags on either side of the cabin. Volkswagen has also provided the SUV with an ICRS (Intelligent Crash Response System), it reacts and can take decisions on your behalf if you aren’t able to. It is able to turn off the fuel pump, switch on hazard lights, and unlock cabin doors.
This car also has effective crash-optimization, where both the front pedal controls are optimised to better protect passengers in case of a collision. It also has a Safety Belt ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) system. In case of a sudden crash or shock, the car retracts all belts safely and keeps everyone in place.
Volkswagen has shed off its curvy-car-maker image for this car, making it a bit more muscular. When it comes to safety, the Volkswagen Tiguan can easily be termed as one among the safest vehicles of the Indian automobile market. The efforts of the engineers are quite visible in terms of quality and precise integration of safety features. Although, this makes the vehicle costlier, but when you know how important your safety is, you also know you are not putting your money in the wrong place.
